Khmer Stone - Lintel

This is not an original piece removed from a temple - although the style is that of Angkor Wat (1110 - 1180).It was probably the result of a collaboration of restoration craftsmen around the Thai Cambodian border. Age unknown.
An extraordinary accomplishment of craftsmanship. Wonderful detail, deep carving - one piece of stone carved with tremendous skill and attention to form. Classical depiction of Vishnu and a giant Naga with numerous deities.

Height (without stand): 95 cm
Height (with stand): 125 cm
Thickness: 29 cm.
