Gold Buddha
Exquisite post Khmer Cambodian gold Buddha sits on an in-scripted silver three-tiered lotus throne— and features attached elongated ears, conical Ushnisha and very finely worked detail. It demonstrates some Thai Ayutthaya influence common after the fall of the Khmer empire in the 15th Century.
It is made of gold sheet and silver—and filled with resin. No obvious repairs - the left hand side of the face has a small crease.
In style, appearance and condition—the piece is consistent with items produced from the mid 1700’s through to the late 1800’s.
This is a rare and extraordinary piece and much less common than those made of only silver. Mounted on a bronze finished stand— encased in a glass cube.
Size : 14cmx19cm
