Thai Bronze
Totsakan
This early Bangkok period bronze demon figure is modeled similarly to the ten headed Totsakan demon king who abducts Sita, the wife of Rama, in the epic Ramakien - also known as Ravana in the Ramayana.
A dramatic piece of bronze sculpture. Damaged/missing right forearm and top part of head piece - but otherwise in good original condition for such a piece, with minor damage and repairs, consistent with its age and the exposure to the elements.
A dominant 68 cm in height without the large museum quality bronze finished stand, which itself stands 17cm in height.
This piece commands attention and deserves to be displayed prominently.
Size : 50cmx68cm
Aged : 200 + yrs
