Khmer Monument and Lintel

Visnuite Monument - Bayon

An extremely rare and extraordinary example of the finest, most delicate and precise stone work possible.
This expression of “awe inspiring” is truly an appropriate term for this piece. It features hundreds of tiny Vishnu figures delicately carved on all four sides.
It is mounted on a tall museum quality bronze gun metal finished stand. Incredible.

Bayon Khmer Sandstone Lintel

This frieze features Hevajra a protective god in Tantric Buddhism, featuring eight heads, sixteen arms and two or four legs. Usually seen dancing, crushing a demon with his right leg. And the monkey a more common icon in Khmer stone art.
This piece is deeply carved and demonstrates a deep patina. Friezes of this size are usually more thinly carved and simple in design with less emphasis on figures.
This is an impressive and rare piece—that will dominate the space in which it occupies.
